The Laurel Highlands Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization established to promote the Fay-West region: which consists of Southern Westmoreland, Northern Fayette, and Western Somerset Counties. With over 380 members, the LHCC is an active, growing organization working to promote the economic and regional interests of our membership.
All sizes and types of business and community organizations are represented. LHCC membership is comprised of local merchants, manufacturers, agriculture, finance, health, media, elected officials, churches, service clubs, and individuals. By working together, we ensure the prosperity and growth of the entire Fay-West region.
We call our service area "The 119 Corridor". State Route 119, a significant north-south traffic artery, helps define this area of Westmoreland County in which we live and work. The 119 Corridor begins for us in New Stanton where the second busiest exit on the Pennsylvania Turnpike sits. The corridor continues south to the northern outskirts of Connellsville in Fayette County.
The Sony Technology Center has a Mount Pleasant address and 3 major industrial parks are within just a few miles of the chamber office. The largest train-truck distribution center east of the Mississippi River is currently being constructed in East Huntingdon Township because it has been determined that the new center is within 500 miles of two thirds of the entire population of the nation. Yes, The Laurel Highlands Chamber of commerce is right in the middle of an exciting business community with great potential for growth and prosperity.
That growth and prosperity will be enhanced as the local community businesses and residents work together for common goals. The role of LHCC is to facilitate that cooperation in as many ways as possible. At the beginning of the 20th century, this region was one of the richest in the world with commerce based on the coal and coke industry. Today, as a region, our best days are yet ahead of us and we pledge the resources and personnel of our chamber to lead the way into our exciting future.
